Yes, in the best sense: Domresidenz is a very small, personally run aparthotel in Regensburg's Old Town – three apartment suites rather than many rooms. You live as you would in a serviced apartment, with a kitchen and two separate bedrooms, and enjoy hotel comforts at the same time: a personal welcome between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m., self check-in for late arrivals, a snack and drinks machine in the building and, from seven nights, a complimentary interim clean. We deliberately do without a large hotel operation – which is why we know every guest personally.

Yes, each apartment suite accommodates up to four guests in two separate bedrooms. An infant aged 0 to 3 can stay in addition to the four guests free of charge – simply mention it in the comments field when booking, or drop us a line. Children aged 0 to 3 stay free of charge, and children aged 4 to 12 receive a 20 percent discount on the rate per additional person – €47.20 instead of €59 per night. These discounts are available when you book direct. A cot and a high chair are provided free of charge; simply let us know when booking. The kitchen with fridge, freezer compartment, dishwasher and microwave makes everyday life with children noticeably easier than a hotel room.

Yes, particularly for two people travelling together and for longer stays. Two colleagues can travel together in one apartment suite and still each have their own bedroom, with a living and dining area between them. For working, there is the dining table and an antique writing desk, and the Wi-Fi reaches up to 200 Mbit/s. USB and USB-C connections are available at the bedside table and at the charging block. For longer stays, the suite has a fully equipped kitchen, and a washing machine and dryer are available free of charge in the basement.

Yes. For family gatherings, groups of friends or colleagues travelling together, you can book all three apartment suites at once – space for up to twelve people under one roof, each suite with its own kitchen, two bedrooms and living area. Domresidenz is at Tändlergasse 6 in the heart of Regensburg's Old Town, just a few steps from the Cathedral. The Cathedral, the Danube, the Stone Bridge, restaurants and shops are all a few minutes away on foot. From Munich and Nuremberg, Regensburg is around one to one and a half hours away – by car or by train.

It is about a 10 to 12 minute walk from Regensburg main station. Alternatively, take the free Old Town bus "Emil": line A connects the main station, Domplatz and Arnulfsplatz and runs Monday to Saturday, and the Domplatz stop is a few steps from Domresidenz. Current timetables are available from the Regensburg transport association at rvv.de/altstadtbus.

We recommend the Dachauplatz parking garage, a few minutes' walk from Domresidenz. There is no permanent parking directly at the property: because of the historic building stock, we have no garage of our own, as is the case for most houses in Regensburg's Old Town.

Regensburg's Old Town is a low-emission zone, as in many German city centres; a green emissions sticker (Umweltplakette) on the windscreen is all you need to drive in – including to the car parks. Virtually all newer vehicles qualify, and hire cars from German rental companies carry the sticker as standard. If you are unsure, just ask us before you travel.

Domresidenz has no charging point of its own – the house stands in the middle of the pedestrian zone. Within a few minutes' walk, however, you will find several public charging options: the Dachauplatz parking garage with more than 20 charging points, and the charging stations on Thundorferstraße near the Danube. The municipal utility das Stadtwerk Regensburg provides an up-to-date overview of all charging locations.

Yes. From the Cathedral, drive between the "Hutmacher" and "Hotel Kaiserhof" into Kramgasse. You then have two options for unloading: drive to within a few metres of Domresidenz at the Tändlergasse junction, or stop for a few minutes at the start of Kramgasse and walk the remaining 50 metres or so. During the day and into the early evening the narrow lane is busy with pedestrians, and the second option is usually the more relaxed one. Bicycles and e-bikes can be left in the neighbouring building opposite Domresidenz, just a few steps from the front door.

Your apartment suite is available from 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, and check-out is by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure. You confirm your departure conveniently via the QR code on the door sign of your suite.

Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. we welcome you in person. If you arrive later, self check-in is available: you will receive an individual access code for your suite by email in good time, so a late arrival is straightforward. We send you all the details about directions and arrival before your stay.

An early check-in is possible on request, provided your apartment suite is already prepared – please get in touch beforehand. If you depart on a Sunday, late check-out until 5:00 p.m. is included free of charge for direct bookings.

Yes, the minimum stay is two nights.

Each apartment suite offers around 65 m² with two bedrooms and box-spring beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living and dining area with design lounge chairs. The parquet and Solnhofen stone floors have underfloor heating; there are sound-insulated windows, air conditioning, a safe, and a bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, hairdryer, LED-lit make-up mirror, towels, bathrobes and slippers. Technology includes an iPad, a Sonos sound system with Spotify, and a 50-inch television with Netflix and around 30 HD channels. Antiques from our family's Antikhaus, original artworks and modern design classics give each suite its own character. Domresidenz holds a five-star classification from the German Tourism Association.

The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, Nespresso machine with milk frother, kettle, hand blender and toaster. Organic Nespresso capsules, organic Eilles tea and coffee cream are provided free of charge – and a bottle of water awaits you on arrival.

Yes, free Wi-Fi of up to 200 Mbit/s is available in all apartment suites.

Yes. The down duvets and pillows come from Mühldorfer in the Bavarian Forest and are anti-allergenic: the down and feathers are washed, steam-dried at over 120 °C, dedusted and sterilised. Each bed also has microfibre pillows, which you do not need to request separately.

We do not serve breakfast of our own – the location makes it easy to do without. The café "Kaffeehaus" is around 35 metres away, and there are several excellent bakeries in the immediate neighbourhood. Organic coffee and tea are provided in your suite free of charge; with fresh rolls from next door, breakfast at your own dining table is as pleasant as in a good bed & breakfast – only on your own schedule. Our personal café and restaurant recommendations come with your arrival information.

The EDEKA supermarket at Residenzstraße 3 is around two minutes' walk away. If you arrive late, on a Sunday or on a public holiday, the EDEKA at the main station is a good option: it is open 365 days a year from 6:00 a.m. to midnight.

Yes. A washing machine and dryer are available free of charge in the basement; we will send you the access code for the laundry room by email on request. An iron and ironing board are in the wardrobe of your suite.

For bookings of seven nights or more, an interim clean is included; we will arrange a convenient time with you. Fresh towels are available free of charge at any time on request – and spare towels are already provided in your suite.

Yes, Domresidenz is a completely non-smoking house – smoking is not permitted in any of the apartment suites or common areas.

We spent three years carefully restoring the house, with one ambition: to preserve its historic fabric while bringing in the comfort of the 21st century. Sandstone door and window surrounds and stone corbels remain in place and shape the suites to this day; underfloor heating, a lift and sound-insulated windows were added. The oldest parts of the house date from the 12th century – yet living here is as comfortable as in a new build, only with considerably more history.

Yes. The apartment suites have sound-insulated windows, and the pedestrian zone lies directly outside – there is no car traffic here. Parties and events are not possible in the suites.

A lift connects all floors of the building, and the bathrooms have walk-in rain showers. Within the apartment suites, some rooms are connected by a few steps while others are on one level. These steps reflect the two building phases of the house, which was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and remodelled in the Baroque period, and we have deliberately preserved them. How many there are, and where, differs from suite to suite. Bookings are made for the Apartment Suite category rather than for a specific unit; do tell us before booking if steps are difficult for you – we will take that into account when allocating, as far as occupancy allows. For a fully step-free stay, for example using a wheelchair, a house of this kind is unfortunately not suitable; we would rather tell you now than disappoint you on arrival.

No, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate pets in the apartment suites.

An apartment suite starts at €179 per night for single or double occupancy. Each additional person is €59, children aged 0 to 3 stay free of charge, and children aged 4 to 12 receive a 20 percent discount. A maximum of four people per suite is possible; an infant aged 0 to 3 can join in addition. You will see the rate for your dates before confirming your booking.

Booking direct gives you the Domresidenz best rate, the children's discounts and – if you depart on a Sunday – complimentary late check-out until 5:00 p.m. Your booking also sits directly with us: changes, a cot or a late arrival can be arranged without going through a booking platform.

You can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before arrival; after that, the total price is due. Your credit card initially serves only to secure the booking and is charged when the free cancellation period ends, 14 days before arrival. Card details are transmitted via a PCI DSS certified provider. The conditions of your individual booking confirmation apply.

No. Regensburg levies neither a visitor's tax nor a city tax on overnight stays – the price of your booking is the final price. There are no hidden surcharges here.

Yes, for stays of 30 nights or more we offer individual terms. Send your dates and wishes to info@domresidenz.de and you will receive a personal offer. Good to know: from seven nights an interim clean is included anyway, and the washing machine and dryer are free to use.
